WHEN THE WISER NO LONGER BACK DOWN

Exhibition at the Činoherák Gallery, Ústí nad Labem

29. 5. — 30. 6. 2026

What happens when individual voices unite as one? And what is the price of solidarity in a world where the system forces us to compete instead of cooperate? The final exhibition of the Bez přestávky (Non-Stop) cycle loosely connects to the Činoherní studio’s production of Fuenteovejuna, turning its attention to collective resistance against a system that is rigged against those who keep it running.

The exhibition features the work of our collective member Nela Bártová, a graduate of the Academy of Fine Arts (AVU) in Prague, visual artist, poet, and recent winner of the 2026 Jiří Orten Award for her poetry collection Házeliště granátů (Grenade Launching Pad). Bártová presents an environmental installation of glass sculptures created from deformed photographs of hands. Alongside sandblasted excerpts from this collection, she opens up the themes of sleep, rest, and dreaming as a quiet act of defiance against a world that lays claim even to our nights.

Lenora

Exhibition at Galerie Fotografic, Prague

February 20, 2026

On February 20, 2026, the Kolodium Glass collective presented Lenora at Galerie Fotografic in Prague — an exhibition introducing a completely new technique of collodion photographs in glass, developed in collaboration with writer Aleš Procházka.

The works on display are a reflection on Lenora, a village surrounding the ruins of a defunct glassworks in the Šumava mountains. The crumbling remains of the factory were captured using the wet collodion process directly onto glass, merging the subject and medium into a single material dialogue.

Accompanying the photographs was an original short story by Aleš Procházka, narrating the fictional expedition of a treasure hunter in search of the legendary Prasklo — said to be hidden somewhere within the ruins.

The exhibition also featured a selection of glass objects from the Kolodium Glass workshop.

About the Technique

The wet collodion process is one of the oldest photographic techniques, dating back to the 1850s. At Kolodium Glass, we have developed a method of applying this process directly into glass objects, creating photographic images that are physically embedded within the glass itself. The Lenora series represents the first public presentation of this technique.
